John West – Optometrist

Bachelor of Science (1980), Diploma in Optometry (1980), Certificate in Ocular Pharmacology (2005), and Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics (2006)

John West is a member of the New Zealand Cornea and Contact Lens Society, and the New Zealand Association of Optometrists. An appointment with John involves a comprehensive examination that includes a trial frame refraction, retinoscopy, slit lamp biomicroscopy (including photo if indicated), and fundus exam with photo. 

John is well versed in fitting all types of contact lenses, and being therapeutically qualified means he is able to diagnose and treat certain eye conditions. In addition to being a clinical optometrist, John is also a Maritime Safety, New Zealand Police and Defence Force designated optometrist.

With John's commitment to continual improvement in his profession coupled with his 35 plus years of experience, patients are assured of the highest quality assessment and advice.
